The Chinese certification authority has issued and already implemented three new GB Standards for motorcycles:
For the products that have obtained the China Compulsory Certification (CCC Certification) with the old GB Standard, the certificate holders shall apply at the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) for converting the respective certificates before the next follow-up inspection audit (CCC Audit). Product tests by an accredited Chinese test lab according to the new standards are mandatory for this conversion. If the conversion of certificates is not completed by December 1, 2018, CQC will suspend all respective CCC Certificates.
Since January 1, 2018, new application for CCC Certification models should be conducted in compliance with GB 7258-2017 and perform type tests according to this standard. Additionally, it replaces GB7258-2012.
GB 20074-2017 became effective on January 1, 2018 and the old standard GB 20074-2006 is superseded. New applications should only be submitted with the new standard GB 20074-2017.
Since December 1, 2017, the new standard GB/T 18387-2017 became effective and, hence, applications should be done according to this new standard. It replaces GB/T 18387-2008 immediately.
These new GB Standards are defined in the revised Implementation Rule for Motorcycles CQC-C1102-2014 (revised). In Annex 2 of this Implementation Rule GB 7258-2017, GB 20074-2017 and GB/T 18387-2017 are added to type test for certification.
Among other changes in the revised version, the Implementation Rule deletes type tests according to GB 21861-2008.
