China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) has released new GB Standard for CCC Certification of Housing, Guards, and Other Household Power-Emitting Electrical Appliances:
GB/T 17466.24-2017 Boxes and enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical installations–Part 24: Particular requirements for enclosures for housing protective devices and other power dissipating electrical equipment
The GB/T 17466.24-2017 was published on 31.07.2017 and came into force on 01.02.2018. In China, the standard applies to residential areas with a temperature between -5 ℃ and 40 ℃.
As of February 2017, GB/T 17466.24-2017 will replace the previous standards GB/T 17466.24-2008 Boxes and enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical installations – Part 24: Particular requirements for enclosures for housing protective devices and similar power consuming devices.
Companies that have CCC Certificate in accordance with GB/T 17466.24-2008 must test their products in China by an accredited testing laboratory in compliance with the current GB/T 17466.24-2017 standard before the next CCC Audit (-> annual follow-up certification). By 01.02.2019 at the latest, all CCC Certificates must have been converted to the new GB Standard, otherwise the certificates lose their validity.
For certified products that are exported before 01.02.2018 and are no longer manufactured, CCC Certificates do not need to be updated.
