Changes in CQC for Transformers

The CQC has made changes to the implementation rules CQC11-461217-2015 for transformers and replaced them with the new CQC11-461217-2017 Safety Certification Rules for Power Transformers.

The changes to the implementation rules affect the voluntary CQC-Certification of the following products:

  1. Liquid-immersed Transformers
  2. Combined Transformers
  3. Dry-type Transformers

The underlying GB-Standards were changed because on March 23rd 2017, they were converted into voluntary GB/T-Standards.

The previously valid GB-Standards:

  • GB1094.1-2013 Power transformers. Part 1: General
  • GB1094.2-2013 Power transformers. Part 2:Temperature rise for liquid-immersed transformers
  • GB1094.3-2003 Power transformers-Part 3:Insulation levels, dielectric tests and external clearances in air
  • GB1094.5-2008 Power transformers. Part 5:Ability to withstand short circuit
  • GB1094.11-2007 Power transformers. Part 11:Dry-type transformers

Were replaced by the respective GB/T-Standards:

  • GB/T 1094.1-2013 Power transformers. Part 1: General
  • GB/T 1094.2-2013 Power transformers. Part 2:Temperature rise for liquid-immersed transformers
  • GB/T 1094.3-2003 Power transformers-Part 3:Insulation levels, dielectric tests and external clearances in air
  • GB/T 1094.5-2008 Power transformers. Part 5:Ability to withstand short circuit
  • GB/T 1094.11-2007 Power transformers. Part 11:Dry-type transformers

Apart from that, under point 3.1 in the implementation rules, the unit partition for liquid-immersed transformers was adjusted.

Since September 6th, applications can be made according to the new implementation rules.

Already issued certificates based on the old implementation rules can simply be changed at the next modification of products or other applications. There is no need to immediately adjust the certificates.

If you have any questions regarding the voluntary CQC-Certification or other certifications for the Chinese market, feel free to contact us and we will be glad to help you.
