Alteration of GB-Standard for Restraining Devices for Child Occupants

Opinion is being solicited of the No.1 alteration notice of GB 27887-2011 Restraining Devices for Child Occupants of power-driven vehicles. Altogether eight alteration were made; among them are some of the specifications:

  1. The original reference GB 8410 Flammability of automotive interior materials in section 2 will be changed into GB 6675.3-2014 Toy safety – Part 3: Flammable performance.
  2. In the original standard section 6.3.3 “The peak values recorded shall not deviate by more than 15% from the initial values.” will be altered into: “the initial collision deceleration peak values recorded should be 18g±3g. The follow-up collision deceleration peak values recorded should not deviate by more than 15% than the initial peak values”
  3. In the original standard section 4.2.6 “child restraint system manufacturer should confirm in writing, that the flame characteristics of the materials used in producing the child restraint system meet the requirements of GB 8410” will be modified into “child restraint system manufacturer should confirm in writing, that when the materials used in producing the child restraint system are being tested, the flame spread rate, according to GB 6675.3-2014 section 5.4, should not exceed 30mm/s or the flame should go off automatically before it reaches the second marked line”
  4. In the original standard section 5.1.4.1.10.1.2 “dynamic experiment be carried out under the circumstances of anti-rotation device malfunction. This experiment does not apply when a permanent and non-adjustable support leg is used as an anti-rotation device.” will change into ”dynamic experiment be carried out under the circumstances of anti-rotation device malfunction, unless either a visual or an audible indication is to prevent the misuse of the anti-rotation device. This experiment does not apply when a permanent and non-adjustable support leg is used as an anti-rotation device.”
